TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – On Friday, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College partnered with Sisters of Providence and the Swope Art Museum to showcase their new exhibit, Stories from the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Historic District.
The exhibit displays artifacts that celebrate the religious history at the college, some of which are nearly 181 years old.
The exhibit will be on display until October and is open to all community members for free.
“I’m blessed to be part of something that is deep and thick and has a history that’s significant. It’s significant in it’s own right for the changes it’s made in the lives of students for decades, but it’s also significant in the Wabash Valley,” Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College President, Dr. Dottie King said.
Dr. King hopes the exhibit will bring education and understanding about the history of the college to the community.
