SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A construction project that will create affordable housing units for seniors is underway.
Sister of Providence says work on the future St. Mary’s Housing began in late July.
The building, formerly Owens Hall, will create 64 affordable units for seniors. 33 units will be one-bedroom and 31 will be two-bedroom. 20% of the units will also serve people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
In addition, there will be four market rate apartments available.
Sisters of Providence are partnering with Indianapolis-based Flaherty and Collins Properties for the project.
Construction is expected to conclude in November 2021. The units will be available to those interested around the time of the opening.
