Vermillion County, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A woman is facing charges after trespassing on a property and resisting arrest in Vermillion County.

According to a press release, on July 17, deputies received an anonymous tip that Leslie Nixon of Kingman, IN, was at a residence that she had trespassed from and had a protection order against the property owner, as well as an out of county warrant.

Nixon escaped into the woods before officers arrived, and later the Fountain County Sheriff’s Department was called in for additional help, bringing a K-9 unit along.

After approximately 15 minutes, the K-9 became hot and weak due to severe heat and the track was called off.

Officers later found Nixon in the bushes near the property. She was taken into custody and transported to the Vermillion County Jail where she is being held on $7000 bond.

There is also a hold for her out of county warrant.
