Woman enters plea in case connected to murder

A woman has entered a plea agreement in a case connected to a local murder.

According to new court documents filed Monday, Teresa Pitts is pleading guilty to assisting a criminal.

She was accused of hiding her brother Kenneth Pitts who is charged in the murder of Alice Anita Oswald.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Teresa Pitts would be sentenced to two years in prison, one year in jail and one year on probation.

Her charge of obstruction of justice would also be dismissed.

On Monday the court took the plea agreement under advisement and set a hearing for April 29.

As for her brother Kenneth Pitts, his murder trial is currently set for the end of September.
