Woman arrested for drinking and driving near Clinton

Vermillion County deputies spotted a driver traveling at 100 miles per hour on State Road 63 near U.S. Highway 36 Wednesday.

After Stopping the vehicle, conducting field sobriety tests, and a portable breath test it was determined that the driver, 26 year old Mariah Lillard of Danville, Illinois was operating while intoxicated. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.28%.

Due the the high level of alcohol in her system, Lillard was taken and cleared at Union Hospital in Clinton, Indiana. She was arrested for Operating a motor vehicle while Intoxicated and Reckless Driving.

Lillard is currently in the Vermillion County Jail with a $9,000.00 bond (10% allowed).
