Winter Weather’s First Strike

As forecasted, parts of the Valley woke up to our first measurable snow fall, and it sure seemed like a lot of folks were not prepared.

There were a fair number of slide-offs and accidents, and for plow drivers, the snow happened at the worst time.
Morning Meteorologist Robyn King said it was the perfect recipe starting with freezing rain and sleet, then adding snow on top of it.

Law Enforcement agencies stayed busy all morning long along with the tow truck companies. One company responded to nearly 20 calls all weather related.

Officials are using this first snow fall of the year as a learning curve to help prepare for the next one this season.

It’s also important to make sure you pre heat your car, as it enhances the performance of your vehicle and helps heat you windshield, making it easier to clear the snow.
