Window Decorating Creates Hoopla at ISU

News

Cheering isn’t the only thing that brings about school spirit.

Decorating windows can also work wonders in that department, especially now at I.S.U.

Windows at the Hulman Center got a colorful makeover Thursday.

And it was all part of an annual event that creates a whole lot of “hoopla.”

For several hours, student organizations, athletic teams and some campus departments took part in the Sycamore Hoopla Window Decorating Competition.

And one participant says this contest allows you to generate ideas and get downright artistic.

“We came up with a basketball.  We’ve got a scoreboard.  We’ve got a Sycamore leaf.  We’ve got our organization name on there.  And, I even put my handprint on there.  I don’t know.  I just like to be creative,” says Timdrick Stewart, and I.S.U. graduate student who is also with the organization, Trendsetters.

All this hoopla is for a reason.

It’s to generate spirit for Sycamore men’s and women’s basketball games and other events through this weekend.
