Democratic candidate for Indiana’s 8th District and Terre Haute native William Tanoos was in town Monday evening, it was part of a meet and greet with residents of the Wabash Valley where they talked about important issues in politics.
It was held at the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 841.
He answered questions from the public about healthcare, education, gun laws and other issues.
Members of the Indiana Democratic Party say Tanoos has shown great promise since the start of his campaign.
And after Monday night’s meeting, they are looking forward to the future.
“I met William, a little over a year ago and he expressed interest in running for congress. We had several people express that interest and then after the primary. And he he had opponents and then he didn’t have opponents so he’s our nominee and he’s our candidate. But I think he’ll work more for us than what Mr. Buschon has in the past,” said Ed Adams, Vice Chair for the Democratic Party of Indiana’s 8th District.
Tanoos is running against incumbent Republican Congressman Larry Buschon.
The two will square off in the general election in November.
