West Terre Haute fire leaves home damaged, none injured

News

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTWO/WAWV) – Crews responded to a residential fire at 37 North 6th Street in West Terre Haute.

Sugar Creek Fire Departments Chief, Chuck Stranahan, says that when crews arrived heavy fire had already spread to the second floor of the structure.

Stranahan also says that the structure of the building made the firefight more difficult. All in all it took crews roughly an hour to extinguish the flames.

The residence is occupied; however, there was no one home at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.

At this time the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
