The West Terre Haute Police Department is warning residents about two phone scams targeting the area.

Callers in one scam claim to be from the Social Security Administration, and callers in a second scam say they are from Publishers Clearing House.

In both cases, individuals are asked to provide personal information. They are also asked to purchase money orders to be sent to the caller before owed funds or winnings can be released.

To report these calls or other suspected scams, call the Triad Scam Line at (812) 231-1430.
