TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Waterways speaker series continued Monday night with topics about Native Americans.

Speaker Diane Hunter was there to explain the history of the Miami Tribe and their presence in Indiana.
This presentation also emphasized her contribution to the Waterways exhibit ‘Pearls of the Wabash’.

Hunter says this is a great way to learn the history of Indiana’s Waterways.

“So many people don’t know our history. It’s not taught to any extent at all in the schools. When we learn the history, you need to learn all the history,” Hunter says.

If you missed out on Monday’s Waterways speaker series there will be one Tuesday, December 14th, at the West Branch Public Library in West Terre Haute at 7 PM.
