INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced Wednesday that the state will remain in stage 4.5 of the Back on Track Indiana plan through August 27.
The governor says local governments may impose more stringent guidelines if they choose.
The state also announced Wednesday that it will extend the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures through August 14.
Wednesday’s briefing comes as the number of new cases in Indiana surpassed 64,000.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 630 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 64,299.
Eight additional Hoosiers have died from COVID-19, for a total of 2,733 deaths in Indiana since the start of the pandemic.
