WATCH: Chemical spill leads to lane restriction on U.S. 41 in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A hazmat spill led to a lane restriction on southbound U.S. 41 in Terre Haute.

It happened around noon time near the Hampton Inn.

The Terre Haute Fire Department says an acrylic latex additive fell off a truck, spilling onto the roadway.

Fire officials say the chemical posed no hazard to the public, but crews had to close one lane of southbound U.S. 41 for about an hour to clean up the spill.
