Washington woman killed in drinking and driving wreck Friday

WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A 24-year-old Washington woman was killed after a wreck Friday on I-69 at mile marker 58 near Washington.

Indiana State Police responded to the crash just after 5 p.m.

Keirsten Arp of Washington was driving a 2018 Tao Moped in the northbound lane. Twenty-five-year-old Jessica O’Bryan of Evansville was driving a 2006 Pontiac when she failed to see the moped and hit it from behind. Authorities charged O’Bryan for Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated Causing Death.

The crash area covered close to 350 feet of roadway. Arp was killed as a result. O’Bryan was taken to the Daviess County Hospital for minor injuries

O’Bryan is now in the Daviess County Jail and the investigation is ongoing.

The northbound lanes of I-69 were closed for close to two hours for crash investigation and cleanup.

Arp’s family has been notified.
