TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Thursday evening Terre Haute’s emergency response teams came together to talk to their community.

The response teams include the Terre Haute Police Department, EMT’s, and many others.

They focused on promoting bike safety and taught kids how to properly put on a helmet, and giving away free helmets.

Jackie Martin, a Union Health Trauma Program Manager, said “So its just relaxed and in their environment we are in a public park so the kids are here to have fun they know this event its well known. We are not in a hospital scene not in the emergency room setting so nothing scary for the kids so they come up to us without any fear.”

Other activities attendees experienced included rock climbing walls, bounce houses, and free food.
