TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Tuesday was the first time for a Power Wheel’s Nationals race held at the Wabash Valley Dragway.
Children lined up to race their electric power vehicles down the track and help raise money for Chances and Services for Youth. Cash prizes from $200 to $500 were awarded to winners based on their age group.
Organizer Alison Prose says this is a unique way for kids to have fun all while giving back to charity.
“This is really cool. We’ve had an amazing turn out and, like I said, it’s just awesome to have kids that aren’t racers be able to come out on the track and do something that’s safe and fun and something that they’ve never maybe done before,” she said.
