Volunteers help maintain tracks, signage at Griffin Bike Park

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Griffin Bike Park workers received some helping hands Saturday during a Work Day at the park.

Volunteers helped maintain the tracks and signage at the park by clearing the tracks and straightening up the signs and flags.

Griffin Bike Park Manager Rich Moore says there is a core group of people who normally come to the work days, mostly those who belong to the Friends of Griffin Bike Park group, but he is always pleased to see Greek organizations and high-school students helping out as well.

“These volunteers are what keeps our park running. I’m out here every day doing stuff but I can’t get everything done and this is what allows Griffin Bike Park to stay open and keep things going,” said Moore.

Griffin Bike Park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, weather permitting. Sunday the park will host a Dual Slalom Race series.
