A local railroad museum will soon be getting a very generous donation, and it comes in a form much bigger than a check.

The Wabash Valley Railroad Museum in Terre Haute is getting ready to add a vintage 1947 General Electric Locomotive to its collection.

The donation comes from Harbor Rail Services.

The 71-year-old locomotive was once owned by Public Service Indiana, where it was used to shuffle coal cars around a power generating station.

Crews began moving the locomotive from Clinton to Terre Haute on late Tuesday evening.

Our crews caught up with them as they delivered the train to it’s final destination here in Terre Haute.

Museum officials say the locomotive should be unloaded sometime on Wednesday, July 25th.

For those who are interested in visiting the new locomotive and the museum it is located at 1316 Plum Street.
