Vincennes receives grant for preservation of historic police building

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWo/WAWV) – The city of Vincennes is receiving a grant from the Department of Natural Resources to continue the rehabilitation of the windows on its historic police building.

The city received $50,000 for window work on the Beaux Arts style building, which originally served as the post office.

25 original windows will be rehabilitated for this project.

Vincennes is one of fourteen communities receiving funding from the Historic Preservation Fund.

DNR is awarding a total of $481,000 in grants across the state.
