Vincennes Police Chief resigns, retires

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Wednesday, Vincennes Police Chief Dusty Luking resigned and retired from his position.

The announcement was made the office of Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum.

According to a release, Yochum will be moving forward with the selection of a new chief in the near future.

Assistant Chief Terry Johnson and Sargent Jon McKinnon will be in charge of the day to day operations of the department until a new chief is selected.

In August, Luking was placed on paid administrative leave following a FBI investigation.

At this time, there are no details on the investigation itself.

It has not been confirmed if Luking’s resignation is related to the federal investigation.
