TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – County officials project over two million dollars will go toward improvements to the Vigo County Industrial Park.

That’s located between U.S. 41 and Sullivan Place. The vigo county redevelopment commission met to talk about some expected projects. A variety of improvements could be coming to the southern Vigo County industrial area like road work. Plans for Harlan Road reconstruction and widened from Industrial Drive to Carlisle Street were discussed. Also, Industrial Drive patching and Pfizer Drive repavement.  Railroad maintenance is also scheduled like track alignment and flashing lights upgrades. The improvements were not voted on tonight, but Rick Burger with Duke Energy says they’re hopeful.

“We’ll vote on this, and you know I think we’ll move forward. It’s exciting to have so many different things where you can make improvements. And people will see those improvements,” he said.

The tax money the redevelopment commission has collected from TIF funds will be used for sign improvements as well. Estimated cost of the project is $2,615,000.
