Today, construction crews began work to repair the Vigo County Library’s drainage and foundation.
The construction will cause the library’s Poplar Street entrance to close and visitors are now being asked to use the South and Walnut entrance.
Staff at the library say that the work on the building is critical and they will continue to accommodate customers needs during this project.
“The Vigo County Library building itself is 40 years old and so we want to make sure that we are maintaining repairs as well as being proactive about certain measures,” said Elizabeth Scamihorn, Vigo County Public Library Public Relations Manager.
The project is expected to be completed at the end of January. The construction will not affect parking.
