TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Salvation Army is halfway toward its holiday fundraising goal, and organizers are asking the community to help get them to the finish line.
So far, $60,000 of the $120,000 goal has been donated through the annual Kettle Campaign.
Volunteers encourage community members to visit one of the following locations to make a donation:
Dec.12, Dec. 13 – Terre Haute Savings Bank employees will be at Baesler’s Market.
Dec. 14 – Rotary South Club will be at Kroger’s South, West Vigo Middle School Dance Team will be at Walmart South, World Gospel will be at Kroger’s East and North, and Mt.Pleasant UMC will be at Hobby Lobby.
Dec. 21 Battle of the Badge — Visit the Vigo Sheriff Department at Baesler’s, the Terre Haute Police Department at Rural King or Terre Haute Fire Department at Kroger’s East.
Another way to help is to become a Kettle Booster. Drop a check made payable to the Salvation Army Vigo County in any kettle between now and Christmas Eve. Call Envoy Sue Linden at (812) 249-9986 for further details.
The Kettle Campaign is from the community and for the community. Each year, the Salvation Army of Vigo County serves several families who are unable to pay utilities or rent. These families are at the 150% poverty level.
