Vigo County government still recovering from ransomware attack

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Vigo County Commissioners released information this morning about the ransomware attack that occurred last July.

According to Commissioner President Brad Anderson, the county government could claim a $500,000 to $1 million loss from the attack. They won’t know the full extent until they finish filing insurance claims.

Insurance will pay for damaged computers as well as overtime from government employees.
