TERRE HAUTE Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Fair is scheduled for the third week of July this year, but some are concerned the current virus outbreak could impact scheduling.
Jenny Hamilton, event and marketing coordinator for the Vigo County Fair said, until further notice, the fair is scheduled to continue as planned.
With social distancing in place and a lot of businesses closed, it can be hard at times to be hopeful, but she said there is still time.
“We’re still looking towards the fair. The fairs are a big thing for the summer, and as of right now it is still gonna happen.”
She said, since the fair takes place later in the year, things could be better, so they plan on waiting before any cancelations are made.
She added, if the social distancing continues some of the early events will be reconsidered, but they are staying positive.
“Come June 1 will start making decisions as to whether it’s in the best interest of the public in the health and safety of everyone is down here whether we should continue with the fair or not.”
