TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The Vigo Co. Public library will reopen to the public starting June 15.
Visitors will be allowed to check out materials and use library resources in a “grab and go” format.
According to library officials, the goal is to minimize the traffic inside the facility.
Face masks will be required for all library employees.
Elizabeth Scamihorn, Strategic Engagement Manager for Vigo Co. Public Library, said the inside of the library will look different.
“We’ve been working very closely with the health department and discussing what it looks like to open a public building such as the library. We have a very large building so we can safely accommodate many individuals at a time. But because we are encouraging the grab and go style, we do not envision or foresee a lot of individuals in our building at one time,” she said.
The library will continue to offer delivery and curbside services.
