VIGO COUNTY., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vigo County Commissioners Tuesday passed a resolution to pay all essential and non-essential county employees during the coronavirus pandemic through April 20.
All non-essential county government employees, “should not report to work and will continue to be paid their normal wages during this portion of the public health emergency,” according to the resolution.
Essential employees have been advised to work from home, if possible.
The resolution comes after Gov. Eric Holcomb’s executive order to cease all non-essential business within the government.
Officials are also advising all county resides to stay home, and if they must travel, to abide by the social distancing guidelines.
