VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Two local school corporations are now able to work together in emergency situations.
The Vigo County School Board approved a memorandum of understanding Monday night with Clay Community Schools.
The memorandum allows the school corporations to help each other immediately in cases of emergency.
“Let’s say an emergency happens in Clay and their administration calls, ‘Dr. Haworth, we need a bus’. This would allow us to immediately go,” explains Vigo County School Superintendent Dr. Rob Haworth. “Or if we had to house their students, it still keeps the liability on the sending school but it gives us permission to legally pick those students up or house those students in our buildings.”
