VERMILLION Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Over eighty years of memories have been restored at Cayuga Park with the completion of brand new grandstands.
The Vermillion County community gathered Saturday to celebrate the brand new grandstands with a lunch and dedication.
The original grandstand burned down at the fairgrounds in 2017.
In addition to new seating, the grandstand also has brand new restrooms.
Vermillion county officials said the $1.3 million project was made possible, in part, through donations and help from across the area.
“Without their donation and their willingness to work with us to complete the project, it would never get done. Plus, the donations helped build and complete it. It gave us enough money to complete it,” said Ron Brink of the Cayuga Town Council.
The original grandstand was built in 1933.
Those in Vermillion County said they look forward to new events that will come with the new grandstand.
