University police receive honors

A number of important members of law enforcement receive some well-deserved praise.  It was part of the Indiana State University’s Police Recognition Dinner.

The event took place in the Magna Carta room on the 2nd floor of I.S.U.’s Scott School of Business.  Some of the awards presented tonight included lifesaving and good conduct awards.

“It’s important to make sure that our officers know that they’re appreciated, they’re appreciated by the campus as well as the community,” said Chief Joseph Newport, I.S.U. Police Department.

This event started 20 years ago and is held every two years.  First Financial Bank was a partner for the event.
