United Way’s annual school supply donation drive happening virtually this year

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – An annual effort to supply local children in need with school supplies will continue this year, but it’s taking a virtual approach.

The United Way of the Wabash Valley is once again partnering with local school corporations for Stuff the Bus.

The event usually involves people loading school supplies onto a school bus throughout the Wabash Valley. However, due to the pandemic, people are asked to help out virtually.

People can go to the United Way’s website and select a school district to help. They can then order items from that district’s Amazon wish list.

The supplies will then be delivered directly to the school district and distributed to local families in need.

If you don’t feel like shopping, the United Way will also accept monetary donations and do the shopping for you.

Participating districts include Clay Community Schools, North Central Parke Community School Corporation, Northeast School Corporation, South Vermillion Community School Corporation, Southwest School Corporation and Vigo County School Corporation.
