Two people taken to hospital after fire at Meadows Manor North

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two people were taken to hospital care after a fire Thursday evening at Meadows Manor North in Terre Haute.

Terre Haute Fire Dept. Batallion Chief Scott Dalton says crews were dispatched to Meadows Manor Noth after staff heard a loud boom and saw smoke coming from the hallway.

“Residents are currently being sheltered in other parts of the building we are concered of the safety of the residents. So, we want to make sure that the alarm system is functioning properly and were able to restore the sprinkler system before we make a decision on whether we need to remove anymore residents,” Dalton said.

Around 24 residents were evaluated and sheltered in place. Fire crews were able to isolate and extinguish the fire.
