UPDATE: The names of the driver and passenger killed earlier today on US 41 at Old US 41 near Oaktown have been released.
The Knox County Coroner’s Office has identified Stephen Hines, 70, and Ricky Hackle, 63, both from Jasonville, IN as the two deceased individuals. Investigating officers believe Hackle was driving and Hines was his passenger.
The driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan involved in the fatal crash Thursday morning was Anayeli Camacho, 30, of Oaktown, and has been arrested for driving without ever receiving a driver’s license.
Two people have died in an accident on US 41 at the Oaktown exchange.
On Thursday morning at approximately 9:31, Indiana State Police and the Knox County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on US 41 at Old US 41 that killed two men and injured another driver.
Preliminary investigation revealed a female motorist was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on Old US 41 when she failed to yield the right of way to a 2004 GMC Yukon that was traveling southbound on US 41. After the two vehicles collided in the intersection, the Yukon GMC rolled and ejected the driver and passenger.
One male was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner’s Office and the other male was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The female was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where she is currently being treated for her injuries.
Indiana State Police are currently attempting to identify all three individuals. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
