Two Arrested in Crawford County Murder


A woman is dead and two people are behind bars after a shooting in Crawford County, Illinois.

It happened Tuesday evening in the community of Bellair, which is north of Oblong.

Around 7:46 P.M., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a woman who had been shot.

When responders arrived, they found 62-year-old Sandra Kendall dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Authorities later located two suspects in the case.

Kendall’s daughter, 40-year-old Kristine Phillippe, is charged with First Degree Murder (Accountability).

Authorities also arrested 45-year-old Jason Strawbridge on a First Degree Murder charge.

Both suspects appeared in court Wednesday where their bonds were set at $10 million each.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Illinois State Police, Oblong Police Department, Robinson Police Department, Robinson Fire Department and Prairie Licking Fire Department.
