Two Airlifted after Single Vehicle Crash

Two people were airlifted to the hospital after an accident in Parke County.

On Thursday afternoon, Parke County Deputies responded to an accident on US 36 near Old 36 Road, about two miles east of Rockville.

Police say a vehicle had left the roadway, crashed through a guardrail and went down a large embankment, landing on its roof.

The driver 78-year-old Sharon Conrad and the passenger 58-year-old Cindy Collins, both from Newport, were trapped in the vehicle for about 20 minutes.

Once they were extricated from the vehicle, they were airlifted to the hospital in Indianapolis.

Rockville Police Department, Rockville Fire Department, Adams Township Rescue, Parke County EMS, Bellmore Fire Department, Double D Towing and Indiana State Police.
