On Friday afternoon at around 1:15 PM, the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office received three 911 calls about a driver operating at a high rate of speed southbound on State Road 63 from the area of US 36.

The suspect vehicle was reportedly a 2017 black Dodge Challenger. Deputies and troopers in the area were then alerted to look for the violator.

A short while later, Master Trooper Ty Lightle was on routine patrol and clocked the southbound vehicle at 114 miles per hour just north of County Road 1450 South. Master Trooper Lightle stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 41 year old Waymon J. Anderson of Chicago, Illinois.

Anderson was then taken into custody and incarcerated in the Vermillion County Jail on a charge of reckless driving (misdemeanor). Anderson then immediately bonded out and continued on to Terre Haute where he was reportedly late for a meeting.
