A traffic stop in Putnam County leads police to find twelve ounces of methamphetamine.

An Indiana State Police trooper pulled a vehicle over on I-70 westbound near the 44 mile marker Thursday afternoon.

During the traffic stop, the trooper suspected criminal activity.

A Putnam County K-9 was called in to assist and it smelled illegal drugs.

Police say a search of the vehicle uncovered twelve ounces of meth. The estimated street value is $6,500.

Police arrested the two people in the vehicle: 30-year-old Hanna Danneberger and 51-year-old Michael Oldfield, both from Mattoon, Illinois.

Danneberger faces charges of dealing meth and possession of meth.

Oldfield faces charged of dealing meth, possession of meth and felon in possession of a firearm.
