ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A partnership brings joy to some local elementary school kids this holiday season.

96 children from elementary schools in Parke and Vermillion counties received at least three toys today, as part of the “Big Toy Giveaway. Pacers Sports and Entertainment partnered with toy company Jakks Pacific to give away toys to over 100 organizations in Indiana.

There were appearances by Pacers emcee Eddie White, Indiana Fever player Destanni Henderson and mascots Boomer and Freddy Fever. It all happened at Rockville Elementary School.

It’s good every year to give back, you know, to get outside of Indianapolis, to see the community, to see the kids’ smiling faces is really what touches us, as volunteers, to be able to do this, it’s a really special time of year,” said Corey Wilson Vice President of Community Engagement with Pacers Sports and Entertainment.

Over two thousand toys were given away today in Rockville.
