A group of Tibetan Buddhist Monks are in Terre Haute to share their culture with folks in the Wabash Valley.
The group of monks from the Tashi Kyil Monastery in India will be on Rose-Hulman’s campus through Saturday.
They are in town to create a sand mandala, which a representative said promotes compassion in their culture.
The creation of the mandala will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
The monks said they are excited to show an important part of their culture to people in the Wabash Valley.
The closing ceremonies will be held at noon Saturday when the mandala will be dismantled.
