Three People Found Dead in Greene County


Indiana State Police are investigating a double murder homicide out of Greene County.

The victims were identified as 73 year old  Peggy J. Burks, of Solsberry, 58 year old  Debra K. Floyd, of Solsberry  who was a caregiver and 71 year old  Lawrence T. Burks, also of Solsberry.

The investigation stems from a 911 call to Greene County dispatch at 8:00 a.m., when someone reported to have heard gunshots nearby. Police found the victims in the 7000 block of SR 43 south of Hendricksville. 


ORIGINAL*: We’re following developing news out of Greene County, where police have confirmed a homicide investigation is currently underway.

At around 1:00 p.m., officials of Indiana State Police’s Bloomington District posted on social media that his department, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana Conservation Officers are working a homicide in the 7000 Block of SR 43, just 1.5 miles south of Hendricksville.

Details are very few at this time, but the Greene County Sheriff advises there is no public safety threat regarding this case.
