VERMILLION Co., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Three Vermillion county residents have made over 300 face masks for those in need of personal proctective equipment during the coronavirus pandemic.
The women are all seamstresses who are out of work due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Their original plan was to donate masks to the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, IL.
Ashlie Wieck, a member of the group, said they wanted to use their talents to help those in need.
“As seamstress, we’re able to work from home and make these masks and make a difference in our community and help slow down the virus. The governor said all hands on deck and that’s what we’re doing,” she said.
The group plans to make 150 masks for the Rockville Correctional Facility in Rockville, IN.
