Distracted driving might not be what you’d think. And over in Illinois law enforcement are trying to make drivers more aware.
This week marks the third annual Illinois Distracted Driving Awareness Week. Hands-free, handheld, and in-vehicle technologies are all considered distractions, even if eyes are on the road and hands on the wheel.
According to the latest reports from AAA, drivers who text when behind the wheel are twice as likely to be in a wreck.
In Illinois, law prohibits all drivers from texting and driving, all drivers from using a hand-held phone while driving, and all teen drivers from using a cell phone while driving.
