Think Pink, a group from Robinson, Ill., has once again made a large donation to Good Samaritan’s Breast Care Center. With their most recent contribution of $7,000, they have donated a total of $62,000 to help local breast cancer patients for the past eight years.

The group’s leader, and breast cancer survivor, Kathy Arnold, is the driving force behind supporting Good Samaritan.

“Being a part of our Think Pink group has brought so much joy and satisfaction. It means so much to me when I see the positive impact we have on men and women who have been able to receive needed mammograms and ultrasounds,” said Arnold. “Recently, a friend of ours was diagnosed with breast cancer and had no insurance. She was able to get the tests she needed because of Good Samaritan Foundation and the money we have donated the past eight years.”

Arnold and her husband, Chris, along with; Warren and Brenda Salesman, Cory and Stephanie Groves, Dean and Sandy Clark, Lisa and Kay Clark, Jerry Goodwin and Dustan Oakley have worked endlessly to raise funds for the Breast Care Center at Good Samaritan.

Activities have included their Think Pink Charity Ride, which has been going strong for the past seven years, 5K and 10K runs, raffles, live auctions and other fundraisers, including an event at Lasata Winery in Lawrenceville, Ill.

The group has also organized a quilt auction for the past two years that was made and donated by Lisa Helderman.

Good Samaritan Foundation Director, Gary Hackney, says working with the Think Pink group has been a great experience.

“The amount of energy and enthusiasm Kathy Arnold and her Think Pink team put into their efforts to raise money for our cancer patients is refreshing,” he said. “They are consistently working to raise more money and organize events to benefit the patients at Good Samaritan.”

Supporting breast cancer patients is a passion for the members of the Think Pink committee.

“I am so proud to be a part of this committee and make a difference in the lives of cancer patients,” added Arnold. “I am thankful for the support we receive from Good Samaritan and look forward to many more years of working with and donating to the organization.”

We appreciate their efforts and hard work for our patients,” said Crystal Beadles, Mammography Manager. “Kathy and her team are a great group to work with and they continue to come up with new ideas and do more and more each year.”

The Think Pink group is already preparing their activities for 2019. Another charity ride is in the works, along with another event at the winery. The group is also discussing some new ideas in order to raise even more money next year.
