TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local organization that assists people with disabilities strives to continue helping people despite its building being closed during the pandemic.
Dee Dodd, the Low Vision Program Coordinator at The WILL Center, says the organization has made it a mission to reach out to the people it serves during the stay-at-home order.
Dodd says it’s something they’re passionate about at The WILL Center.
“The disability community is often overlooked. They’re the ones that are forgotten about and it’s our mission to make sure that doesn’t happen. Just like everybody else, this is tough for them, if not even tougher, and so we want to make sure that all of their needs are being met,” says Dodd.
Dodd says the public can do its part by just giving neighbors, friends and relatives a call to make sure they’re doing alright during these difficult times.
