TERRE HAUTE, Ind., (WTWO/WAWV)– The Vigo County YMCA hosted a blood drive in partnership with Dylan Stolz, a student at Indiana University School of Medicine, for the American Red Cross.
After being denied the opportunity to donate blood after he returned from his internship in Tanzania, Stolz decided to host one of his own.
He says its his way of giving back to the community in a major way.
“It’s a great way to give back to the community without giving money. It takes very little time. You can just come in and give your blood. It really does make a difference and helps save lives,” said Dylan.
The Holiday Donorama was a part of the organization’s Leaders Save Lives Scholarship Program.
Those that participated in the blood drive were give a free t-shirt and a $5 gift card from Amazon.
Visit the American Red Cross website for more donation opportunities.
