The Next Chapter!

News

Some of the WAWV and NBC 2 family went back to the second grade Monday. To read to students at Fuqua Elementary. Our very own Mechell Dixon read “Milo’s Hat Trick” and Meteorologist Dan Reynolds read “A Pig Parade Is A Terrible Idea.”

This was the first delivery of one thousand books for the students. Frontier was our sponsor along with Disney and First Book. The kids were so excited, the school hopes this program instills a love for reading in the students.

“Students who are successful readers become successful students and so to develop that love and to nurture that early on for them when they are such sponges and soaking up so much. So the younger we can get those books in their hands, and working with those students the better off they are going to be,” says Mary Beth Harris the Principal at Fuqua Elementary.

Fuqua Elementary students can also take the books home. The books were distributed to all the Vigo County Schools.
