The Knights of Columbus 630 in Washington, IN are known for their active role in the community.
But they’re best known for their Treasure Hunt.
When they started the pool 44 weeks ago, the total was just two thousand dollars.
Now the total is up to one point two million dollars!
Hopeful participants stood in line to purchase their one dollar tickets on Friday, in preparation for the winning drawing Saturday evening.
The Knights of Columbus have given a lot to the community, and they continue to do so with events like the Treasure Hunt.
“Oh it means a lot. We’ve given over 475 thousand dollars to different charities,” said member David Bowling.
The event also does wonders for the community, regarding business.
“It’s a great opportunity for the businesses on main street. It’s a great opportunity for the restaurants in town,” said Washington Mayor Joe Wellman.
Winners must be present at the raffle to win the whole jack-pot.
However if the winner is not present, they still keep half of the winnings.
