A Terre Haute man is in the Vigo County jail, facing two felony charges. James Freeman, 24, is accused of molestation and attempted molestation of a child under the age of 14.
The probable cause affidavit reveals the investigation started about two weeks ago, when a woman brought her 6 year old daughter to the emergency room of a local hospital. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, and Child Protective Services were both notified.
The alleged abuse occurred when Freeman and the girl were watching a movie at the child’s home. The affidavit states after the hospital visit, the mother confronted Freeman who said voices in his head told him to touch the girl. The mom told investigators Freeman then said everyone already thinks he is a child molester and he wanted to prove them right.
According to the Vigo County jail tracker, Freeman is held on $75,000 bond with no 10% allowed.
