Texas Longhorn Cattle Show

It’s not often that you see Texas Longhorn Cattle in the Wabash Valley, but you can find them this weekend at the C Bar C Arena in Cloverdale.

The International Texas Longhorn Association is hosting its annual convention and show.

It’s the first time in many years that this show has been held outside the southwestern United States.

The association says this is a great way for people in the Midwest to see a breed that’s not normally around here.

“It’s really nice to be in Indiana. We’re an international organization. We have members in Canada and in Mexico. Of course, most of our members are from here in the U.S. The event is traditionally in Texas or Oklahoma, but it does move across the country every third year or so,” says June Cohron, a judge for the youth show.

Members of the association are also enjoying their time in the Hoosier state.

“A lot of excitement. People are really enjoying this facility and the crew. They’ve just been super to work with,” says Mike Tomey, President of the International Texas Longhorn Association.

The event continues on Saturday.

The shows start at 8 A.M. and finish around 3 P.M.

It’s free and open to the public.
