Terre Haute woman injured in I-70 accident

A Terre Haute woman was injured after the vehicle she was driving struck two semi-trailers on Interstate 70 in Effingham County, Illinois, according to Illinois State Police.

According to a police report, Patricia Brown, 31, of Terre Haute, was traveling westbound on I-70 in Effingham County, Illinois when, for an unknown reason, her vehicle struck the back of two semi-trailers and became disabled in the right lane.

Brown was injured in the crash and taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham, IL and then air-lifted to Carle Hospital in Champaign, IL for treatment.

She was charged with following too closely and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The driver of the first semi was Reynaldo Fruits, 46, of Moore, Okla. The driver of the second semi was Travis Mitchell, 29, of Greenville, SC.

No other injuries or citations were reported at the time of the accident.
